Research from male cancer charity Orchid reveals UK men know more about breast and other women's cancers than those which affect only men

1 in 3 men say they're most knowledgeable about breast cancer compared to 1 in 10 men who are familiar with the signs and symptoms of testicular cancer

1 in 10 women say they don't check their breasts compared to 1 in 4 men who don't check their testes

1 in 3 men are not aware they can check themselves for lumps

Only 1 in 5 men admit to being clued up on prostate cancer

1 in 6 men think prostate cancer can affect women

1 in 4 Brits have a family member or close friend with testicular or prostate cancer

3 Mountains, 3 Countries all in 24 Hours!

Are you up for the challenge Take on the Three Peaks for Orchid and help fight the battle for male cancer!
9–11 July 2010

Climb the three highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales (in under 24 hours) and help raise funds for pioneering research and promoting awareness for of male cancer.

The trek covers 40kms and involves 2,984m of ascent and descent, all in under 24 hours!

The Challenge

Your 24 hour challenge begins in one of Scotland's most scenic areas; Glen Nevis Valley, from there you will climb Ben Nevis, the largest mountain in the UK standing at 1,344m before moving on to the beautiful Lake District to climb Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England standing at 978m. As you ascend through sunrise you can enjoy fantastic scenery looking down over the hills and the lakes of the region.

Your final challenge takes on the highest mountain in Wales; Snowdon, standing at 1,085m. Snowdon is a national treasure and a stunning end to the last of your three peaks.

Upon completion of your challenge you transfer to your hotel in Snowdonia for an evening of well deserved rest and celebrations

Sponsorship

We're asking all of our trekkers to pay a non-refundable entry fee of £100 and raise a minimum sponsorship of £850. Just over £500 will cover the cost of the trip and the remainder will go directly towards Orchid.

Whilst this may seem a daunting task, we'll support you every step of the way to help you reach and hopefully exceed your fundraising target but if you have any questions at all then please do contact us to discuss further.
