After five years our video ‘Know Your Balls... Check ‘Em Out!™ has had a major upgrade. It is now available as a DVD with a host of new features and resources.

Our fantastically successful (and amusing!) video – ‘Know Your Balls... Check ‘Em Out!™’ was re-launched as a DVD in July 2007. Now with a host of features and resources and a brilliant new introduction from Jonathan Ross, the DVD was sent out to every school in the UK with boys aged 15-16 following our national launch which took place at Trinity Catholic High School, Essex.

Our video version drew very positive feedback from teaching staff, school nurses and viewers. We have even received reports of students who have gone to the doctor as a direct result of seeing the film, been diagnosed with testicular cancer, and subsequently treated successfully. Crammed full of celebrities including some of Britain’s top sportsmen, some of whom have suffered from testicular cancer, ‘Know Your balls... Check ‘Em Out!’ is designed to amuse whilst educating young men about testicular cancer.

A resource pack consists of:

• DVD
• Teacher’s Booklet
• A4 & A3 Posters
• 100 Credit Card Size Information Cards
• Pad of 100 Quiz Sheets

The DVD has Sign Language, Subtitles in five languages (Gujarati, Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu and Welsh), Interactive Quiz, Outtakes and Downloads as well as an introduction to cancer.

Generous grants from Lehman Brothers Foundation, The Light Fund and Derek Butler Trust enabled us to upgrade the film to DVD and supply a free resource pack to every secondary school with males aged 15-16 years in the UK back in June 2007.

Thanks to a further grant from The Light Fund, we have been able to supply the DVD resource pack to all 491 Pupil Referral Centres and 150 Youth Offending Institutes across the country in September 2008. We are also able to supply the resource free to all School Nurses, meaning we are able to reach every young male in the UK before they leave school to help them understand testicular cancer, how it can affect them and the importance of regular self-examination.
